MS Internet Explorer: To activate Sun's Java Virtual Machine go to the menu bar, select "Tools/Internet Options", select tab "Advanced", and click on "Java".

Other browsers on Windows: Start Java Control Panel (to find in Start/Settings/Control Panel). In the Panel "Advanced" select under "APPLET tag support" the browser that should use the Sun VM.

Konqueror: Go to menu, select "Preferences/Web Browsing/Konqueror Browsing". First select "Java", and then click on "Enable Java globally". Fill in the path to
Java (e.g. {java_home}/bin/java).
- Other browsers on Linux: For a description by Sun click on "Java Plug-in Browser Registration Instructions".
4. A browser requires the following configuration:

"Check for newer versions of stored pages every time a webpage is visited". This is for the reason that on repeated generation of a table the new version gets displayed, and not the old one out of the cache. Configuration guideline for MS Internet Explorer: Go to the menu bar, select "Tools/Internet Options", select tab "General" and click on "Setting" for "Browser History". There select "Check for newer versions of stored pages: Every time I visit the webpage".
